New doodles etc.

I thought with the advent of summer I'd be blogging more, but I've instead routed my energy into reading and defeating video games. Currently reading: American Gods. Currently Playing: Fallout 3, Prince of Persia, KOTOR 2. Just finished: Assassin's Creed (so very good.)

I've been drawing some serious dokery lately, but I like the doodles so I am posting them up here. I've been working with textures more, but I'm still having a hard time trying to make it less obvious that a texture's been used and increase the vibrance of the color without sacrificing texture detail.

Finished with classes

Finally finished (more or less) for the semester. If you're looking for me I'll be the collapsed girl in the corner clutching a margarita.

Another doodle

In effort to avoid doing my comics this evening I doodled a little picture inspired by the story/ song of the Crane Wife. Drawing to escape comics... how far have I really come? Tomorrow my procrastination will really come back to haunt me, but for tonight, another picture:

Zoe Keating

I just learned about a very interesting experimental musician, Zoe Keating. She plays the cello, but she does so in a unique and highly creative way. Check this out:

The harmony that she is playing with herself through the macbook sitting next to her. As she plays, the music is recorded and looped through the macbook, allowing her to harmonize with herself. On top of it, her music is very beautiful. It's definitely worth a look!

Another Dude

This one is modeled after Bill Mudron but it strikes me it looks more than slightly like Joss Whedon.

Dude a Day

Today I found a nifty little site called Dude A Day and I liked it so much I decided to try to draw a little more. I'm doubtful I can make one a day because of my insane schedule, but I thought I would try it out. So here is the first post of project Dude As Often As I Can:

It's my Vampire character, from when I had time to do things like play Vampire.
