Apple supports Vote No Campaign on Proposition 8

I think this is about the coolest thing ever. Apple just donating $100K to the Vote No campaign in California, opposing same sex marriages. This is copied directly from apple's hot news page:

No on Prop 8

October 24, 2008

Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8.

That's positively rockin'.

As written, your post currently sounds like Apple is against same-sex marriages.

Well Prop 8 is a bill eliminated the rights of same sex couples to marry. I'm not sure what about this sounds like they are against same sex marriages. Furthermore saying it's a civil rights issue rather than a political one implies in my mind that they think the gov't shouldn't dictate who can/ cannot get married.
